This blog is more than an account of Near Death Experiences. It ponders in detail the tough questions of life. Who are you, and why are you here in this physical world? What happens when you die, and is there a judgment? However, most anything could appear here. This is not a news blog, archived posts are just as relevant as new posts. Check the boxes at the top of the page for the Contents, Contact, Forum and other links.
It happened in sixth grade. I was sitting at my desk in English class when it started to snow: big flakes. My English teacher walked over to a window and raised it. She reached out and caught some snowflakes on her sweater.
“Look! Look!” She said: “Did you know snowflakes are really ice crystals.” “The crystals start by forming small hexagonal shapes, and branches sprout from the six corners as the crystals grow.” “No two crystals are exactly alike.”
There arose a loud rumble as the entire class popped from their desks and ran to the windows. Soon all windows were open, with a dozen arms reaching out to catch snowflakes.
Seated close to a window, I was quick to catch the flakes and study them. The teacher was right about the diverse shapes of the snowflakes. It was amazing how unique and beautiful they appeared. As I looked in wonder at the tiny ice sculptures questions begin flooding into my thoughts. How, and where are they created, why are they so fragile? When I became older learning about snowflakes was often on my mind. I read all the available material I could find. I never lost my fascination for them.
In college I studied people, their psychology, religion, politics, and philosophy. People are unique, beautiful and fragile like the flakes, with no two exactly alike. Our world is made up of endless diversity. We truly live in a classroom of infinite proportions.
That English teacher sparked my curiosity as a child, and it lasted a lifetime. The more knowledge I acquired about diverse religions, cultures, and societies, the more I became transformed. I became myself. No images to maintain; no acting to exhibit; no list of achievements and acquisitions. I became humbled, not by knowledge acquired, rather by the amount unknown.
Embracing diversity can be a little scary in the beginning. But persistence will soon overcome the routines of past acculturation. Knowledge of others is your path to self-knowledge; your path to self-confidence; and your path to freedom from the confines, and conflicts of diverse thought processes. Embrace the diversity of others, learn from them. Share and coexist, you will be blessed.
There
is a vast difference between Religious beliefs and Spiritual reality.
The Greeks and Romans had many Gods. They erected statues and places
of worship. Gave sacrifices, wealth and great devotion to their Gods.
Now, the religions of this ancient time have faded into history. The
religions of today will also eventually fade out of favor and into
history.
Religion
is an institution for expressing belief in a divine power. A set of
rites, rituals, practices, and protocol written and followed by
mankind. It is because religion is physical expression, it is doomed
to the fate of all physical constructs. They have a beginning, grow
into maturity, get older, out of date, and finally come to an end. We
read about them in history class.
Spirit,
on the other hand, remains unchanged. Spirit exists above and beyond
the discernment of mankind. Spirit created the physical world and all
things within. You are spiritual. You were created by Spirit and are
occupying a physical body in order to live, learn, and grow
spiritually within the physical world. When your body becomes
unsuitable for physical life you will return to the spirit world.
Like spirit, you are eternal.
As
humans
we can not fully understand the nature of spirit, nor do we know how
spirit came into being. Some
humans have experienced a short
glimpse
of the spiritual world through a
phenomenon called the
Near
Death Experience.
It is through these experiences that we are able to understand some
realities of the spirit world.
Spirit
is light, and the light is pure energy. All things have their
beginning in the light. You were created as a being
of
light, self-aware, and with
the characteristics of
unconditional
love,
unflagging curiosity, and
eternal life.
You
grow spiritually by expanding your awareness. The physical world
allows you to make choices, then
live through the consequences of those choices. The rule of spirit is
“like attracts like.” How you treat others determines how you are
treated.
Eventually
you will learn to be nonjudgmental, kind and loving. Your
job is learn to
understand yourself and others. Accept others and yourself for what
you are and expand your love. The
more you learn the more you will understand.
You
honor yourself by honoring others.
Never
forget you are the light of the Creator surrounded by unconditional
love. When life gets difficult seek the light within. It
is your birthright. Ask, and you will receive. Search, and you will
find. Knock, and the door will be opened for you.
This book is a journey into life. It travels through the fears of hell fire and other life changing events into the cool water of peace and love. It was my journey and I want to share it with you. Maybe you won’t find the road as bumpy as I did if you know where the pot holes lie.
As a youth, in church, I was taught about a God that could be loving, jealous, or angry with me depending on how I believed or acted. Only it just wasn’t that clear what I needed to do to appease Him. If I did the wrong thing this God would send me to hell where I would be punished forever. I would burn eternally in the fires of hell. I was a sensitive child, and it bothered me. Although I believed I was doing all the right things, I could never be sure. So I developed anxiety about my life and started to have anxiety attacks. I lost confidence in myself and didn’t know what choices to make. I lost motivation, just didn’t care anymore. I was afraid of this less than loving God. I couldn’t take any more of the teachings, so as I grew older I quit church.
In High School I joined the chess club and attended the school football games. I dated a girl whom would later become my wife. The fears of hell began to subside as I got on with my life. I forgot all about religion and considered it something to avoid. When I joined the Navy and got caught in the middle of Hurricane Audrey I remembered how to pray, everyone on the ship was praying. We got through the storm with only injuries and a badly beaten ship. In college I began to learn about religion. It helped to lessen my fears of hell. I read Bible history, comparative religions and church doctrine. I was gaining knowledge that would help me understand life, and was enjoying it.
Later I worked in the typesetting business and finally became the owner of a typesetting plant. It was hard work and changed rapidly as computers came upon the scene. There was a lot to learn, and the hours became longer for me. My health was declining from the long hours, so I tried harder to get the business stabilized. But once more in my life I would face death. I had a heart attack. It was a mild one, but it made me think about the afterlife again.
Then later, in the wee hours of morning I had an experience that allowed me a glimpse of the afterlife. I went out of my body. I was surrounded by love and compassion that was as cool water on a fevered brow. I knew I had met the real God; the one I knew existed. I felt motivated again; I was fully alive and starting on a new adventure of helping others. But I needed to heal myself first. There’s a chapter on how this happened.
If you decide to read this book, I believe it will help calm any fear of God or the afterlife. God is love.
This book is much more than a book on near death experiences. It is a self-help book complete with instructions. It will explain in detail the tough questions of life. Who you are and why you are here in the physical world. Where did evil come from, and is heaven and hell real, complete with details. Is there an afterlife and what is it like. It talks about the teachings of Jesus and the meaning of Love. This book challenges science, and the theories of evolution. But most of all this book will help you feel good about yourself and the world.
Near death experiences are spiritual in nature indicating an afterlife of pleasant circumstances for all people.
There are six sections in this book each explaining a different view of the experience.
