The Purpose of Life

Near Death Experiences reveal we live after our physical death, and that our lives are full of meaning and purpose. They show us the spiritual world is our real home. We come here by choice to learn about ourselves and to gain knowledge for our spiritual future.

In the physical world we learn the alphabet, so we can put letters together to form words. Those who master large numbers of words can communicate quickly and efficiently with others. Research shows the bigger the vocabulary, the better the chance one has to become successful.

In the spirit world it is thoughts we learn about. The physical world provides the teaching for us. Here we see our thoughts in action, our hopes and desires, as well as our fears, unfolding before us even as we think about them. Thought translates into reality, how fast this happens depends on the intensity and frequency of the thought. “We are what we think.” is truth.

We are learning to understand the importance of thinking, focusing thought into useful constructive ideas, and beliefs for the benefit of ourselves and others. Some call this positive thinking, spiritual people call it learning to love. Love is the tool to gain spiritual growth. The more you love the greater the growth.

When we give up the negative thoughts and start working with loving ourselves and others, many wonderful things happen. We can understand things better, gain knowledge quicker, and live peaceful, stress free lives. It is not an easy path, but it is worth the extra effort.

Start today to honor your thoughts with the importance they deserve. Listen to yourself, notice how others react to you. Make adjustments in your thinking to help yourself. Read positive books, do positive affirmations, listen to positive thoughts, and replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts.

While the physical world can be really tough at times, it is always safe. The Higher Intelligence (God) that created it, and you, is always there within it all. Learning to love will open the door of communication, and understanding will flow to you from the Love. You will reap what you sow.

You are always held, safe and secure, in God’s Love. No matter what others may think of you. No matter what you may think of yourself. God loves you. You can not fall from His grace. Love is your eternal birthright. You can not lose it. It is endless.

God loves you more than you realize, more than you can imagine while in physical form. He sets no limits or conditions. His Love is unconditional. You don’t have to do anything, believe anything, or be anyone special to deserve it. You are His perfect child, in whom He is well pleased.

Changing Thoughts

People like to control their own destiny. They need the mental and physical freedom to become the kind of person they admire. They want a successful career, a loving family, enough money to be comfortable, and that is possible through the proper understanding of thoughts.

Thoughts are self-fulfilling, they will bring you what you most think about whether it’s good for you, or not, depending on the intensity. That is why understanding thoughts is so important.

Thoughts themselves are neither true nor false. We make them so by the value we place upon them. The thought “I am too fat,” is harmless unless taken to the extreme dieting of anorexia. Karen Carpenter was 35 pounds underweight when she died of anorexic complications. I loved her beautiful singing very much, and was greatly saddened.

Some entertainers have taken their own life at the peak of their career. What were they thinking? Was the pressure of success overwhelming? Did they feel trapped or hopeless? What thoughts cause young people to take their own lives? We need to find answers quickly and help them overcome the intimidation of their own thoughts.

Below are a group of thoughts that are ninety-nine percent counterproductive the second they enter the mind. Only those who entertain them are not aware of that fact. This is all of the noxious thoughts I could think of at the time, I am sure there are hundreds more.

: “No matter how much I do, it is never enough” : “”Nobody loves/cares about me” : “I can’t do anything right” : “I do it all, nobody helps” : “I gave up everything for you” : “My life is hopeless, there is nothing left for me” : “I am all alone” “I am helpless” : “I can’t take any more” : “All you do is belittle/criticize me” : “I can’t do that, I can’t do this” : “No, no, I don’t want to try that” : “I wish I was dead” : “I hate you” : “I hate my job/house/(whatever)” : “I feel guilty about (anything/everything)” : “I’m sorry (many times a day)” : “I am too fat/skinny/dumb/(any negative word)” : “I can smoke/drink/do drugs, nothing bad will ever happen to me” :

Negative thinking produces negative results. The more you think about a negative outcome, the more likely it is to happen. It is important to think about yourself, and  your life in a positive way, even if it seems unreal to you at the time. The more a thought is repeated the more real it will appear. Finally, thoughts become beliefs whether they are true or not. Then they become habits that are really difficult to change from negative to positive. Examine your thoughts carefully, keeping only those that are positive.

The best way to change unwanted thoughts and habits is to replace them with wanted thoughts and habits through the use of affirmations. When I was a teenager I smoked cigarettes. I knew the dangers of smoking, but did it anyway. When I needed to quit. I made up some affirmations and started to practice them twice a day, once In the morning, and before going to bed. It was between two and three weeks that I started to lose my desire to smoke. One morning I vowed this would be the last day I smoked a cigarette. Well it wasn’t. But I kept on with the affirmations until one day it was the last day. Below are the affirmations I used. It is easy to make up your own.

: “I don’t like smoking cigarettes“ : I don’t smoke anymore” : “I quit smoking” : “I’m through with smoking” : “I have no desire for a smoke” : “I am finished with smoking” :

If you have trouble writing your affirmations, send me the details, and I will help. There are general affirmations and spoken affirmations that are very good for anyone to use anytime.

Now remember how long it took you to develop a habit, for it will take a while to change those negative thoughts into positive ones. Don’t give up, try to say the affirmations on a regular basis and then go on with your life. Don’t try to judge whether they are working.

Freedom

Liberation from restraint, and negative thinking.

Freedom is the first choice of everyone. We have personal freedoms granted by the constitution of our country. However, no one can grant you freedom from the trepidation of your own thoughts. Your mind (thinking process) can make you feel lonely in a crowd. Depression, anxiety, fear, and emotional problems may stem from negative thinking. However you are the master of your thoughts, and beliefs, you can learn to change them.

Much like a gardener pulls the weeds, and plants flowers in their place, you can replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts, granting yourself peace of mind, calmness, and joy.

Start today reading self-help books, doing affirmations, and committing yourself to honesty, truth, and love.

“Responsibility is the path to freedom.”

Words of Wisdom

Words of Wisdom
by Michael

Michael is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say.

When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, “If I were any better, I would be twins!”

He was a natural motivator.

If an employee was having a bad day, Michael was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Michael and asked him, “I don’t get it! You can’t be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?”

Michael replied, “Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two choices today.

“You can choose to be in a good mood or … you can choose to be in a bad mood. I choose to be in a good mood.

“Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or…I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it.

“Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or… I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life.”

“Yeah, right, it’s not that easy,” I protested.

“Yes, it is,” Michael said. “Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations.

“You choose how people affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood.

“The bottom line: It’s your choice how you live your life.”

I reflected on what Michael said. Soon hereafter, I left the Tower Industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

Several years later, I heard that Michael was involved in a serious accident, falling some 60 feet from a communications tower.

After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Michael was released from the hospital with rods placed in his back.

I saw Michael about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied. “If I were any better, I’d be twins. Wanna see my scars?”

I declined to see his wounds, but I did ask him what had gone through his mind as the accident took place. “The first thing that went through my mind was the well-being of my soon to be born daughter,” Michael replied. “Then, as I lay on the ground, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or …I could choose to die. I chose to live.”

“Weren’t you scared? Did you lose consciousness?” I asked. Michael continued, “…the paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the ER and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read “he’s a dead man. I knew I needed to take action.”

“What did you do?” I asked.

“Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me,” said Michael. “She asked if I was allergic to anything.

“Yes, I replied.” The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, “Gravity.”

Over their laughter, I told them, “I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead.”

Michael lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully.

Attitude, after all, is everything.

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

After all, today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

You have two choices now:

1. Forget this.
2. Pass it on to people you care about.

You know the choice I made.
