Welcome

This blog is more than an account of Near Death Experiences. It ponders in detail the tough questions of life. Who are you, and why are you here in this physical world? What happens when you die, and is there a judgment? However, most anything could appear here. This is not a news blog, archived posts are just as relevant as new posts. Love

Everyone knows what Love is, or do they? People tend to confuse Love with all sorts of other things. That is because Love is not an event, not something you do. It is something you are, it is a state of mind, an attitude, a way you live your life. The meaning and purpose of your being.

Love is hard to define because it is not an event. A group of us guys were sitting around the lunch table. The subject of sex came up, and I explained sex was not love. Just as most of the group were trying to make me eat my words, one of them said: “Hey, do you guys love your parents?” Consensus was yes, that they did love their parents. “Do you guys have sex with your parents?” An immediate outcry of disgust was expressed by all present at this suggestion. “Then Love is not sex, it is something greater than sex,” remarked my rescuer.

One of the best descriptions of Love I have come across is the one given by Paul in the 13th chapter of 1st Corinthians in the Bible. It is often called the Love chapter.

“Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud, never haughty or selfish or rude. Love doesn’t demand its own way. It’s not irritable or touchy. It doesn’t hold grudges and will not notice when others do it wrong. It’s never glad about injustice, but rejoices in truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends”. — Paul.

God is Love. Love is unconditional. Love heals all things. Love is the force that creates, and holds everything together. Love is caring, and compassion. These are some more of the many ways to accurately describe Love. Love is so ubiquitous, and so powerful it resists any simple definition put to it.

But, it is not enough for us to define Love, that does not really help us to enjoy life a whit more. We must find ways to gain access to the power of Love, and allow this power into our daily lives in order to grow strong spiritually.

We know we are created in God’s Love, and we are Loved. Why then does Love seem so distant at times? So hard to find when we are alone, troubled, and seeking answers.

The reason is two-fold. First, we agreed to incarnate into the physical world, a world of dualism. Part love, part fear, for the purpose of learning to love, and second, we have not finished learning yet. Fear is a strong motivator. It is easy to become lost in the teachings of fear. Some of our authority figures (parents, teachers, professors, politicians, etc.) teach us fear, while others teach us love. That is as it should be, our task is learn what is fear, and what is love, opting for love each time we recognize it.

Fear is pervasive, it can be seen most everywhere in our society. Wars, violence, murder, and mayhem can be found in our books and magazines, our video games, our television programs, and reported on the daily news. Hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, forest fires, mud slides, avalanches, tsunami and other natural disasters seem to be with us on a daily basis. Then there are plane crashes, train crashes, and car crashes, as well as many other accidents. Don’t forget the recession and the suffering it has brought to so many people. It is no wonder many are depressed, have anxiety attacks, feel suicidal, or are mentally disturbed.

Love is also pervasive, but not as apparent. Love is less spectacular than fear, because it is more common. There is more love in this world than fear. For those that kill, there are more that comfort; for those that harm, there are more that heal; for those that destroy, there are more that build; for those that steal, there are more that give; for those that lie, there are more speaking truth; for those that cheat, there are more that are honest; for those that condemn, there are more that uplift, for those that criticize, there are more that encourage; and for those that hate, there are more that love.

You are in a classroom, what you will learn is your decision, no one can do it for you, will you learn to love? Love has the power to heal, love can bring peace into your life, and compassion into your heart. There is nothing to lose, it is a win, win, decision.

Spiritual Healing

Spiritual, and/or faith healing are real. We know they are real because of the placebo effect. If a person is given a fake pill, and told by a doctor the pill will cure his illness, it is almost certain that his illness will improve, and in some instances the fake pill may actually seem to cure the patient. This is an example of faith healing. The faith being in the doctor, and his knowledge of medicine.

Faith healing is one kind of spiritual healing that requires a strong belief in the healer and/or the method the healer uses. While faith healing can be very effective in the moment, it can also be short-lived, and disappointing in the long run because it does not address the underlying cause of illness.

During, and for some time after my near death experience I felt a great amount of spiritual energy running through my body. I knew the near death experience had healed my heart problem, and the energy present in my body from the experience was the method by which I was healed. So I began to read a great deal about spiritual energy after my experience, and participated in many healing sessions with others in order to learn more.

I learned life is maintained by a natural life force. This is the natural energy of the universe, and it permeates everything, everywhere. The energy is within us, and we are within the energy. It is the Oneness of everything and we have our existence within the Oneness. Some people hold a large amount of this natural energy, while others may only hold a small amount of it. I know this energy is spiritual love, or God’s Love, and the more love a person holds, the more life energy is present. God is unconditional love. God is the sum total of all things that exist, and we are within God, and God is within us, at all times.

We are surrounded and permeated by God’s spiritual love, we are created from it, it’s the cause and reason for our existence. God’s Love flows through our being in an endless stream of renewal. As our life’s blood flows through our physical being, so God’s love flows through our spiritual being.

However, in the physical world this stream of love energy can be slowed to a mere trickle by negative thoughts and emotions, slowed to the extent we can no longer feel the love, peace, and security it brings us. When this happens we feel alone, and separated from God. We are fearful of the future and full of doubt. Our self-confidence is low sometimes leading to depression and other maladies. Both mental and physical troubles seem to assail us when we least expect it. At this point in life we are standing in the need of healing. Spiritual healing.

Healing is available to everyone for the asking. Everyone willing to walk the path of spiritual growth. My near death experience did not make me spiritual, it handed me no spiritual growth. I was already spiritual as everyone is spiritual. It did give me the knowledge of what spiritual growth was, and why I should walk the path of spiritual growth. My near death experience enlightened me. It gave me knowledge of my purpose and mission. Life has great meaning to me now, my goal, as well as my mind, is clear. It provided me with the incentive to become the best person I could be.

Most of the things we think about ourselves are not true. They are the direct opposite of who we are, and what we are capable of becoming. Jesus is our example of strong spiritual growth. Spiritual growth that each one of us can and will eventually achieve through our own efforts and perseverance.

John 14:12: Jesus said:

Otherwise believe for the very works’ sake. Amen, amen I say to you, he that believeth in me, the works that I do, he also shall do; and greater than these shall he do.

We are not weak, insignificant little beings. We are the sons and daughters of God. We have free will to choose our path through life, and most of us choose smallness over greatness. We never realize the power of our choices to fulfill our dreams. Our choices are very important, because what we choose, so we become. Below is a quote that illustrates that dramatically.

“I am responsible for what I see. I choose the feelings I experience, and I decide upon the goal I would achieve. And everything that seems to happen to me I ask for, and I receive as I have asked.”

A Course In Miracles, Foundation for Peace.

If you want to be healed and walk the spiritual path of love it is necessary for you to accept responsibility for where you are now. Note that wherever you are in your life right now, that is the place you are supposed to be. There were no accidents or mistakes in your life. You chose to be where you are at today for learning purposes.

Now if you are not pleased with the choices you have made in life, and not satisfied with where you are right now. If you feel you have little or no control over the direction your life has taken or the direction it will take in the future then you can change all that by choosing to walk the spiritual path of love.

The path is not hard, nor it is easy. It takes commitment and perseverance. It is a daily event, some small amount of time should be devoted to it every day. Perhaps only fifteen minutes a day will change your perspective of life and enable you to know it is real. Below is another quote to reveal some of the techniques used in walking the path.

“There is nothing in your exterior experience that you did not originate within yourself. Interactions with others do occur, yet none occur what you do not attract or draw to you by your thoughts, feelings, attitudes or emotions. In your terms this applies both before, during and after physical life. In a most miraculous fashion you are given the gift of creating your own experiences.

“Do not personally give any more conscious consideration to events that you do not want to happen. Any such concentration, to whatever degree, ties you in with those probabilities, so concentrate upon what you want, and as far as public events are concerned, take it for granted that sometimes even men are wiser than they know.

“One: I will approve of myself, my characteristics, my abilities, my likes and dislikes, my inclinations and disinclinations, realizing that these form my unique individuality. They are given me for a reason.

“Two: I will approve of and rejoice in my accomplishments, and I will be as vigorous in listing these — as rigorous in remembering them — as I have ever been in remembering and enumerating my failures or lacks of accomplishment.

“Three: I will remember the creative framework of existence, in which I have my being. Therefore the possibilities, potentials, seeming miracles, and joyful spontaneity of spirituality will be in my mind, so that the doors to creative living are open.

“Four: I will realize that the future is a probability. In terms of ordinary experience, nothing exists there yet. It is virgin territory, planted by my feelings and thoughts in the present. Therefore I will plant accomplishments and successes, and I will do this by remembering that nothing can exist in the future that I do not want to be there.”

By Seth as given to Jane Roberts in the “Seth” books.

If you are still reading this, and you can at least entertain the possibility that you can create your own realty, we are ready to start building the foundation upon which your spiritual growth can take place.

Affirmations are the foundation of spiritual growth. Not just any affirmations, but those designed to build self-confidence and positive thoughts. While it may seem strange to start with affirmations, it is the fastest and best way to change negative thoughts and beliefs into positive ones. They need to be done on a daily basis preferable right before going to bed. If done on schedule you should notice improvement in a few months. It usually takes about a year to achieve an improved perception of self and life in general.

This is a small price to pay for the benefits received, and the time may seem long, but anything worth achieving takes time. You wouldn’t expect to learn to play the piano in a week, or get a college degree in a year. So be patient and practice, it will happen for you.

I wrote a set of affirmations over 20 years ago and over the years they have helped numerous people including myself. They are shown below.

The following is a list of Personal Growth Affirmations.

I have found this list most helpful in building confidence and trust. I offer it here as a guide for the reader.

Affirmations are powerful life changers when used daily over a long period of time. They work best when read (or written) twice a day while trying to visualize each affirmation vividly in your mind.

Please feel free to copy (and paste), or print the affirmations for your personal use.

If you want something better to put on the wall, and/or frame go to my picture gallery.

If you want to hear the affirmations and some other self-help audio.

——————

I am a good person. I am loved. I am love.

I am worthy of prosperity.

I am worthy of abundance.

I am worthy of joy. I am worthy of happiness.

I am perfect health. I am perfect order.

I am always successful. I am mentally clear.

I am responsible for my life.

I am responsible for my life only.

I am free to choose the direction of my life.

I am choosing the direction of my life.

I am in control of my life.

I am in control of my life only.

I am blessing everyone and everything in my life.

I am safe and secure.

I am completely safe and secure.

I am forgiven. I am forgiving all others.

I am at peace with myself.

I am at peace with the world.

I am open to all knowledge.

I am letting the knowledge reveal truth.

I am open to all truth. I am open only to truth.

I am living in truth. I am truth.

I am in my perfect career now. I am being myself.

I am open to my perfect loving partner now.

I am open to let my life’s purpose reveal itself to me now.

I am ready to receive my good.

I am courage. I am whole. I am eternal.

I am living in eternity now.

I am living in the present now.

I am loving myself. I am loving all others.

I am providing good in this world.

I am allowing good into all phases of my life.

Now you are ready to build the foundation of your spiritual growth. It is somewhat like a “Catch 22” instead of believing it when you see it. You will see it when you believe it. So that is what the affirmations are all about. Don’t judge them, or analyze them, just practice them regularly on a daily basis. As your thoughts become more positive their value will become more apparent to you. In time you will understand in a way that will show you the next step on the path to spiritual growth.

Don’t rush, you are eternal, all the time you need is available.

If you have questions or comments I would love to hear about them.

Love Conquers

Supernatural, miraculous, anomalous, etc. are words used to explain events of unknown cause. Everything, however, has a reason for being and a discernable cause. If we don’t understand an event, it doesn’t mean it is beyond us. In time, all things we marvel at will be revealed.

If you want to speed up your knowledge of life, learn to Love. Within the energy of Love is the answer to all things, all knowledge. Love is the answer.

“There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer; no disease that enough love will not heal; no door that enough love will not open; no gulf that enough love will not bridge; no wall that enough love will not throw down; no sin that enough love will not redeem…

My Take IV — Healing

One thing often overlooked by the skeptics of near death experiences is the healing that takes place. NDEers are healed by their experiences. Many were told they would never make it. I was told I had about six months to live, that was over 20 years ago. The love we experienced was healing love. I knew I was going to live and get well after my experience.

All healing is spiritual. Everything that exists is energy, spiritual energy. God is love, and love is spiritual energy. Love heals all things.

If I told you that on the top of a certain mountain was a vast treasure chest filled with precious gems, gold, silver and expensive works of art would you climb that mountain to get at it? Depends on whether you believed me or not, right. Would you have the trust and faith in me to climb that mountain?

Spiritual growth and healing begins with trust and faith. You will see the growth and healing when you believe it. That was the title of a book by Wayne Dyer, “You will see it when you believe it.” I highly recommend it. You must act first, and accept responsibility for your actions. It is necessary to light a fire for heat on a cold night. Just as it is necessary to change your thoughts to improve your life.

A good way to start is by doing affirmations. They work well over time because our thoughts matter. We create our own reality through our beliefs and thoughts. The idea is to change negative thoughts into positive one. I wrote these affirmations many years ago and they have been used by thousands of people. You might want to give them a try.
