Strength through Diversity

Our Country (USA) is strong due to the diversity of its people. There are rules protecting that diversity against discrimination. These rules include anti-discrimination statutes to protect our citizens due to their:

Age; Disability; Equal Pay/Compensation; Genetic Information; Harassment; National Origin; Pregnancy; Race/Color; Religion; Retaliation; Sex; Sexual Harassment.

Yet, there are groups or organizations existing whose purpose is to preach discrimination against others under the pretext of free speech. Some call them hate groups. If the rules say discrimination is wrong, should there not be laws prohibiting such groups or organizations?

Hate Groups

Those who hate have no place,
Show no face in America.
Isolated by witless fright,
They form assemblies in the night,
Passing their terror onto others
Who know them not, nor why?

They’ve forgotten where they are
A land of freedom far
Removed from fear and hate.
A place of rights for everyone,
Rights to life, and liberty
Gained by quick hostility to
Bigots eager to destroy our
America, land of the free.

You have those same rights.
Don’t you hold them close,
When your hate is confronted.
Your very existence depends on
American rights undisturbed.
Yet you would deny others this
Freedom given by law.

Shame be upon prejudices.
Turn your hate into empathy.
Create an upswing in sympathy.
Through understanding
Appreciate what we hold dear
Put aside your fear.
Join America, applaud liberty.
