The Source

The Source is the Creator of all things everywhere, the Source has many names in many different cultures. Here we call the Source “God.” There are no accidental creations, all things have purpose and meaning. We have taken a physical body in order to learn this purpose and meaning. Our bodies may be fragile, become weak, feel alone, and fearful, but we are not our bodies. We are not weak nor fearful, as long as we remember our Source.

We are born of God, we are His children, and in His image. That means we existed before our birth to physical parents, and we shall live after our mortal body ceases to be. We are eternal beings born of God, and reborn into the physical life of man.

God is our real Father. His love for us is unconditional. He loves us for who and what we are, His children. Our future is safe and secure, God’s love does not waiver for any reason.

There are many in the physical who say we must do this, or we must do that in order to be worthy of God’s love. They are wrong. God’s love is our birthright, it is our’s freely given by God. There is nothing we must do or not do to achieve His love. God accepts us just as we are. We were created in His perfection and will remain perfect whatever happens during our physical journey. His love is always there, no one can take it from us, nor can anyone deceive us into believing we have lost God’s love. God’s love is greater than any mistake we will ever make. His love is unconditional, it is given asking nothing in return.

However, there may be some that don’t feel God’s love, and safety, some that can’t find their connection to the Source. Their physical body is full of fear, pain, anxiety, and depression. They wrongly believe they are their physical body not allowing love to enter for fear it will hurt them. They hold tightly onto the hurts of the past instead of forgiving those hurts and dismissing them. They falsely believe others don’t like them when it is they that don’t like themselves. Yet it is unknown to them that it is love that completes the connection to the Source. It is your love of God and His creations that connect you to the Source.

Allow your heart to open and receive God’s love for you, it is totally free, no strings attached. Love yourself as God loves you, just the way you are, no need to change anything, love yourself for who and what you are, God’s child whom He loves dearly. Love all of yourself every beauty and blemish, every good habit and bad, every good deed and bad, every good thought and bad, accept all your past and love it. Forgive those who have hurt you, for they know not what they do.

Carry an attitude of love wherever you go, into whatever you do and say. Become the love you desire. Pass that love to others and watch it return to you doubled. Hold your head up, you are not your body, you are God’s child.

Why anger, sadness, madness and fear?

Why anger, sadness, madness and fear?

Anger, sadness and madness are sillly. Because anger, sadness, and fear means that you have forgotten that God is everywhere around you and within you.

If we never forget Him, then anger, sadness, madness and fear will never come to us.

The most silly people in this world are the people who think they are not silly.

Passing the Ball

In the game of football forward progress is made in two ways. You can run with the football, or you can pass the football to someone else in a better position to run it for you. Whether you run or pass often depends on the opposition. I can remember when the University of Oklahoma seldom passed the ball. They relied on the run nearly all the time. This was often called “five yards and a cloud of dust” football. They won six national championships by mostly running the football. But the opposition gradually became tougher and Oklahoma was forced to use a balanced offense, one that included running and passing equally well to win.

In the game of life it is the balanced approach that wins the game most often. We can’t always carry all the burdens of life all the time. We must learn to let others help us. Learn to share our responsibilities. It is just as important to allow others to help us, as it is for us to help others. We can learn from them better ways of handling the problems we meet in the game of life. Sharing our burdens by discussing them in support groups is an excellent way to lighten them. There are free support groups for most everything meeting in the larger cities. You can find them, and when they meet at the local library. It is the wise person that reaches out to others in times of trouble and confusion. “Ask and you will receive, knock and the door will open.”

Then there are times of trouble and confusion so strong it seems no one can helps us. No matter what we do it seems to be wrong, and leads to more worry, anxiety, even depression. These are the times we pass all our burdens into the capable hands of our Creator, the One who loves us unconditionally. He will lift our burdens and make them light. In Him there is peace and rest. Calm waters, and smooth sailing abide within His love. So let go of your cares and woes, your heavy burdens of fear, pass them into His willing hands of light and rest your weary soul within His love.

Connections

Last night I couldn’t sleep and tried to meditate and pray while laying in bed in various modes of rest and sleep. Who can be in this world and think there is nothing else and be happy? Seems to me the connection to God and Love is essential to living a happy life.

Everything we touch, see and hear in this world ends. It’s such a dark thought that the random accident of evolved biology we call our brain “figured out” a way to be self aware and that there really is no “self,” only random atoms that got together in an intelligent way without any intelligent guidance for some reason to play a cruel trick on us, and to give us the ability to think we are a “self.” Further, that we are playing a cruel trick on ourselves creating a belief in a “self” when all along we are nothing. Only a mass of atomic energy swirling around that somehow taught itself to delude itself into thinking it was something more than the body when proclaiming a “self.” All misery comes from thinking we are alone, and destined to die and cease existence. Worse yet, that we will suffer IF there is another realm, and worse yet, suffer for eternity if there is an eternity. So the Course in Miracles teaches us that all suffering comes from the guilt of separation. I find this to be true, why should I feel guilty about anything if I know I am part of the living God, but the original “sin” or thought keeps rattling around and causing pain. In any case now I have no trust that I am connected to my Source when I am fearing for my job because I see no positive things happening, and reason that there just might not be a God working on my behalf. Just as bad is the thought that God exists but is unaware or uncaring of my plight. So I feel guilt because the consequence of my separation thoughts has caused my unbelief and fear, depression, you name it.

I feel very fortunate to have been raised at a time when there was great reverence for the divinity of God. In the times that I remember feeling a connection in Mass, or elsewhere, I never felt anything but a great Love awaiting me.

What am a telling you this for? I know I have a different understanding of God now. Guess I’m just looking over my old beliefs and experiences to try and see bright spots of connections and understanding that I have experienced.

Well, I’ve wandered in my writing, really only reminiscing now.

Peace

Bill G.
