Welcome

This blog is more than an account of Near Death Experiences. It ponders in detail the tough questions of life. Who are you, and why are you here in this physical world? What happens when you die, and is there a judgment? However, most anything could appear here. This is not a news blog, archived posts are just as relevant as new posts. The Missing Brain

Supposedly, the larger the brain, the more intelligent the species, but is this really true? Albert Einstein’s brain was smaller than normal, yet he was a genius in his own right.

What would happen if your brain were only five percent as large as normal, well, in some cases nothing at all.

There are case studies involving victims of an ailment known as hydrocephalus, more commonly known as water on the brain. These studies were done by British neurologist John Lorber. The results of these studies contain some amazing facts.

This is a quote from KeelyNet concerning the work of John Lorber.

a colleague at Sheffield University became aware of a young man with a larger than normal head. He was referred to Lorber even though it had not caused him any difficulty. Although the boy had an IQ of 126 and had a first class honours degree in mathematics, he had “virtually no brain”. A noninvasive measurement of radio density known as CAT scan showed the boy’s skull was lined with a thin layer of brain cells to a millimeter in thickness. The rest of his skull was filled with cerebrospinal fluid. The young man continues a normal life with the exception of his knowledge that he has no brain.

The name of this writing is “Where is Consciousness? There is another paper about the same subject at Do You Really Need To Have A Brain?”

So the question persists: Where is Consciousness? If mankind could get by with a much smaller brain, then why don’t we have smaller brains. Could this tiny portion of a brain create a conscious personality as mainstream science now believes it can, I don’t think so. Consciousness is not in the brain, we, you and I, are our own consciousness’ and we are not created by the brain.

Science has never shown any physical evidence of memory stored in the brain. Think of the huge amount of memory we humans use every day in the normal course of work and play, could a tiny, tiny brain store such memory and still have space to create our personalities. The answer is no way.

Out of body experiences, and near death experiences indicate we are separate entities from our brain and body. Research and documented veridical near death experiences show good evidence that we will remain alive and well after the death of the body.

It may take a few years for mainstream science to catch up with the research, but reality will win out in the long run.

The Real Rain Man

Speaking of us humans, could an individual with a low IQ still be a genius? The answer to this question is yes.

While that sounds rather impossible, it does exist. Such people are called idiot-savants. I have a video on one such individual. He was the inspiration for the movie “Rain Man.” Kim Peek can read a page from a book in eleven seconds, and remember every word. He has committed nine thousand books to memory. He has a broken brain, the right and left hemispheres of his brain are not connected as our brains are connected. Here is a quote about his brain:

The following day, Neuroradiologist Dr. Pratik Mukherjee will use Diffusion Tensor Imaging, a ground-breaking way of mapping how the brain functions, to look inside Kim’s head. This reveals that the two halves of his brain are not joined in the normal manner, a condition known as agenesis of the Corpus Callosum.

Dr. Pratik Mukherjee: “The fibers that should have made this connection are traveling in different, peculiar directions.” Has the way Kim’s brain rewired itself to compensate for the missing Corpus Callosum account for his incredible memory?

When I read about individuals like Kim I have to wonder how a broken brain can in some ways be able to do things a whole brain can not do.

While main stream science still believes the brain creates the individual, I do not. Having been out of my body I know that I am not the product of my brain. During my near death experience I learned I existed before this body I now control, and I will live after this body has died.

Since Kim’s brain does not allow him full control of his body, he (his mind/spirit) connects more to the spirit world than does ours. Allowing him to access some of the unlimited aspects of that dimension. Kim seems to be able to access any knowledge asked of him.

Edgar Cayce had similar talents, but, unlike Kim, needed to go into a trance to provide the knowledge.

There is a Hall of Records in the spirit world that contains all the knowledge of the universe. It is easy to access in spirit form, but near impossible to access while in physical form.

There has been no physical memory discovered in the brain, no thoughts, no emotions, or any other aspects of the mind. The brain is only the interface between mind/spirit and the body.

I think we can learn more by studying damaged and broken brains than we can by studying whole brains. Identical multiple births, and even conjoined twins raised in the same environment by the same parents, sharing the same DNA, do not have the same personality. All people are unique individuals and do not get their personalities from their brain. They were, who they were, before the body they control was formed.

The definition of idiot-savant is: “Psychiatry — a mentally defective person with an exceptional skill or talent in a special field, as a highly developed ability to play music or to solve complex mathematical problems mentally at great speed.”

The Certainty that I am Loved

Hi Leroy,

Your blog continues to be such a great source of inspiration and information to me, that I thought I would share with you an inspirational moment from my life here, on the other side of the world.

Yesterday I was in no mood for church. It had been a stressful week and a trip to church felt more like an obligation than an opportunity for some much-needed quiet reflection. But two things happened that clearly demonstrated my need for that connection with the Divine. As I was waiting for the service to begin I began to read the “thought for the week” in the parish newsletter. It’s subject was St Therese of Lisieux, (a Catholic nun whose prayers and meditations inspire many people around the world) and her abiding faith in the certainty of being loved. The certainty of being loved! How radically different our lives would be if we could all keep that certainty in our hearts.

The priest began his sermon with a funny though poignant tale; a climber was hanging dangerously off a tall cliffside with only the rocks for support. Unsure of his faith in God, he called out, “Is there anybody up there, anybody at all? Please help me God.” And God replied, “I will save you. All you have to do is pray and let go.” The man thought about this for a moment and then shouted, “Is there anybody else up there?”

Pray and let go — easier said than done. But something that I am planning on putting into action. You know how I have maintained that one day my book would land on the right table at the right time? Well, after a great deal of reflection I have come to the conclusion that the desk the book was meant to land on all along was my own.

So I’m planning to put my money and energy into delivering to the world the book that I was inspired to write. I will publish the book myself — it feels like the right thing to do. It will take some time, but at least this way I will no longer be waiting for permission from some publisher to deliver what I believe to be an important message.

What do you think?

Hope you are happy and well.

Adrienne

p.s. that Bruce Lipton lecture was wonderful – I have ordered his books.

[Adrienne is an author, and the book is a Near Death Experience Novel, perhaps the first of its kind ever. I have read the manuscript and it is accurate about near death experiences, I can hardly wait for it to come out. I will announce it on this blog when it is ready.]
