An Able Man Am I

An able man am I,
I’ve not gone without.
Things others hold dear,
I really don’t give a shout.

It’s not my possessions
that make me able.
It’s not arm strength,
wrestling at a table.

Much more than material,
possession or talent.
Even more than knowledge,
and acting so gallant.

Ability comes from within
the individual soul.
A anthem written in ink
on a parchment scroll.

Truth, honesty, faith,
and love, ’til I die.
That is what makes,
an able man am I.
