Extensive research in the West on the remarkable phenomenon called near-death experience (NDE) undergone by millions of people all over the globe, has revealed startling things about death, dying, afterlife and subtle operation of the law of karma. The experiences largely coincide with Eastern spirituality and world classic on afterlife.
At 18 hospitals in the U.S. and U.K., researchers have suspended pictures, face up, from the ceilings in emergency-care areas. The reason: to test whether patients brought back to life after cardiac arrest can recall seeing the images during an out-of-body experience.
I do believe there’s a hereafter. I used to pooh-pooh all that otherworld stuff, but I’ve had six patients in my career have near-death experiences and come back—and they all told the same story. And they never feared death after that. I don’t make light of that stuff anymore, I’ve just seen too much. It’s just another interesting facet of this life.
