Welcome

This blog is more than an account of Near Death Experiences. It ponders in detail the tough questions of life. Who are you, and why are you here in this physical world? What happens when you die, and is there a judgment? However, most anything could appear here. This is not a news blog, archived posts are just as relevant as new posts. Check the boxes at the top of the page for the Contents, Contact, Forum and other links.

The Role of Religion

“However many holy words you read,
However many you speak,
What good will they do you
If you do not act upon them?”
Buddha

“The essence of all religions is love,
compassion, and tolerance.
Kindness is my true religion.
The clear proof of a person’s love of
God is if that person genuinely
shows love to fellow human beings.”
The Dalai Lama

“Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things.”
Paul the Apostle

If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
1 Corinthians 13:1-7

The role of religion is simple; teach only love. Should a religious organization retain past doctrines that inhibit or prevent the teaching of love in all areas, then that doctrine should be replaced quickly with doctrines of Love. Getting closer to God is to get closer to His Unconditional Love.

In His Image

Creator to created we came into being.
Image to image, yet each unique.
Individual to individual we are the children
carrying within His precious gift of love
being free to plan and pilot our own course.

It will not be an easy course on smooth waters.
There will be high seas and rough weather,
but there is the promise of final success.
A guarantee we will make it through
for we are eternal as our Creator is eternal.

We will learn to gain faith by believing.
To gain love by giving love in all situations.
To receive compassion by being compassionate.
We will learn to not judge nor condemn others,
but to celebrate the differences of those unlike us.

Though we may possess knowledge and wisdom,
we will remain humble to all we meet,
understanding they are a part of our Creator as we
greet them with patience and peace in our heart
willing to forgive all with loving kindness.

When the lessons are over we will be anew.
By giving our life in the service of others we
become closer to our Creator who gives us everything.
His heart to ours as we grow to become like Him,
being a child of whom He is well pleased.

Love Will Redeem

Supernatural, miraculous, anomalous, etc. are words used to explain events of unknown cause. Everything, however, has a reason for being and a discernible cause. If we don’t understand an event, it doesn’t mean it is beyond us. In time, all things we marvel at will be revealed.

If you want to speed up your knowledge of life, learn to Love. Within the energy of Love is the answer to all things, all knowledge. Love is the answer.

“There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer;
no disease that enough love will not heal;
no door that enough love will not open;
no gulf that enough love will not bridge;
no wall that enough love will not throw down;
no sin that enough love will not redeem…”

Some Good Strategies

This is a clip from the “Seth Speaks” books. I carried this in my billfold for 20 years. I tried hard to practice the advice because it does work when you do.
