Welcome

This blog is more than an account of Near Death Experiences. It ponders in detail the tough questions of life. Who are you, and why are you here in this physical world? What happens when you die, and is there a judgment? However, most anything could appear here. This is not a news blog, archived posts are just as relevant as new posts. Positive Thinking Essay

Hi, my name is Britney and I am going to be 20 in July. I feel like I have learned things so early on, that for some people takes a lifetime. I have gained so much spiritual wisdom from Lekatt and others, now it’s all about practicing and living those principles. It is easier said than done but not impossible. We have all the time in the world and we are eternal. We all get bad thoughts but that doesn’t mean we should give up hope. Nothing is ever too far gone. There is hope for you yet!

I wrote this essay because I needed to hear it myself. I am preaching to myself because I am still in the process of thinking positively. So I need to take my own advice! My writing is my gift to the world, so I am glad to help you!

Positive thinking is like exercising a muscle. Only it gives you a mental workout. The more you use it, the better you will be at it. It’s not possible to think positive all of the time, but you want the majority of your thoughts to reflect good and happy things.

People may not think positive because they might not know the right tools to use for becoming a positive person. Some things that will help you be positive are: coping skills, building up encouragement, changing your thoughts by developing good habits, surrounding yourself with positive people, and being spiritual.

Real positive thinking works by implementing coping skills. Here are some of mine. Pray, think positive thoughts, write poetry and letters, read the Bible, draw or color, listen to music, socialize, sleep, and take walks. Something any of us could try: hold on to the good in life, reflect on what God has done for you, think of funny movie lines, sing a happy song in your head, or go to your happy place.

I would also evaluate, think through, downplay, examine, and analyze your problems. Pick apart your problems and try to see what really matters, and what can be tossed aside over your shoulder. You can see what is important now, and what can wait till later. You can say, “I’ll deal with that when the time comes.” As a result, coping skills will help your problems be more manageable.

My dad said, “you can’t choose if a bird flies over you, but you can choose where it builds its nest.” If a bad thought comes into your head, just let it go right out again. “Put those thoughts in a drawer,” said Uncle Don. Coping skills involves self-talk. Here are some thoughts to think about: you can realize it’s your responsibility to be happy. Think how can I make this a positive?

You can become in love with life by thinking of life as an adventure. Every time you step out of your house is an adventure! Think about how the possibilities are endless. My Grandma Betty said, “The sky is the limit.” If you keep that perspective, nothing in life will seem dull or boring. You won’t even have time to worry or think negatively, because your mind will be so focused on the good in life.

Build up encouragement in your heart that you can store so God can bring it to your mind when you need it most. If the economy goes into a recession and you suffer a loss, you will have things stored up that you can draw on when you need to. Encouragement is like free checks that you can cash in anytime you want. You could either have a journal, scrapbook, binder, or something you can look at and remember when you need that extra boost of encouragement. You never know when catastrophes might strike next. People’s lives are constantly being uprooted by family problems, weather disasters, you name it. The reason why it is important to have encouragement that you can live off of until you fill your love tank again.

Changing your thoughts by developing good habits is important. Some things can become an obsession. Frodo Baggins in the “Lord of the Rings” became obsessed with the ring and the longer he had it the harder it became to resist it. It’s easier to break a habit when you first notice it, instead of waiting years and years to stop. People like my grandma who smoke find it hard to break the habit.

My Dad stopped smoking before he became addicted to it. The Bible talks about strongholds. It is anything that builds itself up and is keeping you from being free. I like the song by “Rush of Fools” that says, “Turn me around, pick me up, and undo what I have become.” This is saying that you can reverse what habits you have now. A conversation I had with a friend, “It takes time and a lot of affirmations to dim the old habits. So be patient with yourself,” said Leroy. “But I get into the old habit of talking to the voice in my head,”

Britney. “You have chosen the habit in the past and now you are struggling with it. To release it takes forming good habits where there were sad ones before. Therefore, having good habits will make you struggle a lot less in your life. You will save yourself a lot of mental pain.”

Have at least one positive person in your life because the people you are around most, are what you’ll become. You want to be a person that others can look up to. I picked up the habits and mannerisms of speaking of my friends, and my parents. I also started to sound like my mentor, with the words I chose and what I believed.

People who travel to different parts of the country that speak different accents will start sounding like they have the accent. I started sounding a little countryish when I went to Missouri after staying there a week. It is important to watch positive shows, listen to positive music, and speak positive things, because it becomes a part of who you are.

I am very sensitive to things, so it is crucial for me to remember this. The saying, “Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil,” is very true. Whomever you associate with will affect everything else in your life. If you associate with good positive people, you may save yourself from going down the wrong path, and/or dying a premature death.

“Do not imitate what is bad, but what is good,” 3 John 1:11.
“Be imitators of God, as dearly loved children.” Ephesians 5:1.

Even if you are friendless, you will always have your Creator with you. He said He will never leave you nor forsake you. That’s something to be positive about! I read an article that it is proven that people who go to church live longer and are more happy. I think the reason why they are happy is because they are connected in a community of people, their time is filled up with a good activity, and because they have people who look after them.

When they see someone suffering they step in to help. I think being spiritual removes the fear of death, and gives you peace about it. If you know that one day you will see your loved ones again and that they are safe with God, it makes the loss easier to bear. Even though the fear of public speaking is the number one fear, I am guessing that the fear of death falls closely behind it. It is not impossible to remove your fear of death. I still worry about it sometimes, but you can learn to accept that death is a part of life, and not the end to existence. Thus, spirituality helps you cope with life’s uncertainties.

Positive thinking changes your life by giving you skills to lessen your problems, gives you the strength to go on, helps you to lower conflict in yourself, because you have formed good habits. Positive thinking helps you be that person others can follow as an example, and spirituality adds a dimension to give you hope.

If you are looking for a makeover why not try positive thinking? If you are on drugs for mental problems you should go to the root, (which is your thoughts), and take that on first. I think medicine (for mental problems) needs to go to the back bench, and let these five steps act as a runner to send you on the road to victory.

Spiritual Healing

Spiritual, and/or faith healing are real. We know they are real because of the placebo effect. If a person is given a fake pill, and told by a doctor the pill will cure his illness, it is almost certain that his illness will improve, and in some instances the fake pill may actually seem to cure the patient. This is an example of faith healing. The faith being in the doctor, and his knowledge of medicine.

Faith healing is one kind of spiritual healing that requires a strong belief in the healer and/or the method the healer uses. While faith healing can be very effective in the moment, it can also be short-lived, and disappointing in the long run because it does not address the underlying cause of illness.

During, and for some time after my near death experience I felt a great amount of spiritual energy running through my body. I knew the near death experience had healed my heart problem, and the energy present in my body from the experience was the method by which I was healed. So I began to read a great deal about spiritual energy after my experience, and participated in many healing sessions with others in order to learn more.

I learned life is maintained by a natural life force. This is the natural energy of the universe, and it permeates everything, everywhere. The energy is within us, and we are within the energy. It is the Oneness of everything and we have our existence within the Oneness. Some people hold a large amount of this natural energy, while others may only hold a small amount of it. I know this energy is spiritual love, or God’s Love, and the more love a person holds, the more life energy is present. God is unconditional love. God is the sum total of all things that exist, and we are within God, and God is within us, at all times.

We are surrounded and permeated by God’s spiritual love, we are created from it, it’s the cause and reason for our existence. God’s Love flows through our being in an endless stream of renewal. As our life’s blood flows through our physical being, so God’s love flows through our spiritual being.

However, in the physical world this stream of love energy can be slowed to a mere trickle by negative thoughts and emotions, slowed to the extent we can no longer feel the love, peace, and security it brings us. When this happens we feel alone, and separated from God. We are fearful of the future and full of doubt. Our self-confidence is low sometimes leading to depression and other maladies. Both mental and physical troubles seem to assail us when we least expect it. At this point in life we are standing in the need of healing. Spiritual healing.

Healing is available to everyone for the asking. Everyone willing to walk the path of spiritual growth. My near death experience did not make me spiritual, it handed me no spiritual growth. I was already spiritual as everyone is spiritual. It did give me the knowledge of what spiritual growth was, and why I should walk the path of spiritual growth. My near death experience enlightened me. It gave me knowledge of my purpose and mission. Life has great meaning to me now, my goal, as well as my mind, is clear. It provided me with the incentive to become the best person I could be.

Most of the things we think about ourselves are not true. They are the direct opposite of who we are, and what we are capable of becoming. Jesus is our example of strong spiritual growth. Spiritual growth that each one of us can and will eventually achieve through our own efforts and perseverance.

John 14:12: Jesus said:

Otherwise believe for the very works’ sake. Amen, amen I say to you, he that believeth in me, the works that I do, he also shall do; and greater than these shall he do.

We are not weak, insignificant little beings. We are the sons and daughters of God. We have free will to choose our path through life, and most of us choose smallness over greatness. We never realize the power of our choices to fulfill our dreams. Our choices are very important, because what we choose, so we become. Below is a quote that illustrates that dramatically.

“I am responsible for what I see. I choose the feelings I experience, and I decide upon the goal I would achieve. And everything that seems to happen to me I ask for, and I receive as I have asked.”

A Course In Miracles, Foundation for Peace.

If you want to be healed and walk the spiritual path of love it is necessary for you to accept responsibility for where you are now. Note that wherever you are in your life right now, that is the place you are supposed to be. There were no accidents or mistakes in your life. You chose to be where you are at today for learning purposes.

Now if you are not pleased with the choices you have made in life, and not satisfied with where you are right now. If you feel you have little or no control over the direction your life has taken or the direction it will take in the future then you can change all that by choosing to walk the spiritual path of love.

The path is not hard, nor it is easy. It takes commitment and perseverance. It is a daily event, some small amount of time should be devoted to it every day. Perhaps only fifteen minutes a day will change your perspective of life and enable you to know it is real. Below is another quote to reveal some of the techniques used in walking the path.

“There is nothing in your exterior experience that you did not originate within yourself. Interactions with others do occur, yet none occur what you do not attract or draw to you by your thoughts, feelings, attitudes or emotions. In your terms this applies both before, during and after physical life. In a most miraculous fashion you are given the gift of creating your own experiences.

“Do not personally give any more conscious consideration to events that you do not want to happen. Any such concentration, to whatever degree, ties you in with those probabilities, so concentrate upon what you want, and as far as public events are concerned, take it for granted that sometimes even men are wiser than they know.

“One: I will approve of myself, my characteristics, my abilities, my likes and dislikes, my inclinations and disinclinations, realizing that these form my unique individuality. They are given me for a reason.

“Two: I will approve of and rejoice in my accomplishments, and I will be as vigorous in listing these — as rigorous in remembering them — as I have ever been in remembering and enumerating my failures or lacks of accomplishment.

“Three: I will remember the creative framework of existence, in which I have my being. Therefore the possibilities, potentials, seeming miracles, and joyful spontaneity of spirituality will be in my mind, so that the doors to creative living are open.

“Four: I will realize that the future is a probability. In terms of ordinary experience, nothing exists there yet. It is virgin territory, planted by my feelings and thoughts in the present. Therefore I will plant accomplishments and successes, and I will do this by remembering that nothing can exist in the future that I do not want to be there.”

By Seth as given to Jane Roberts in the “Seth” books.

If you are still reading this, and you can at least entertain the possibility that you can create your own realty, we are ready to start building the foundation upon which your spiritual growth can take place.

Affirmations are the foundation of spiritual growth. Not just any affirmations, but those designed to build self-confidence and positive thoughts. While it may seem strange to start with affirmations, it is the fastest and best way to change negative thoughts and beliefs into positive ones. They need to be done on a daily basis preferable right before going to bed. If done on schedule you should notice improvement in a few months. It usually takes about a year to achieve an improved perception of self and life in general.

This is a small price to pay for the benefits received, and the time may seem long, but anything worth achieving takes time. You wouldn’t expect to learn to play the piano in a week, or get a college degree in a year. So be patient and practice, it will happen for you.

I wrote a set of affirmations over 20 years ago and over the years they have helped numerous people including myself. They are shown below.

The following is a list of Personal Growth Affirmations.

I have found this list most helpful in building confidence and trust. I offer it here as a guide for the reader.

Affirmations are powerful life changers when used daily over a long period of time. They work best when read (or written) twice a day while trying to visualize each affirmation vividly in your mind.

Please feel free to copy (and paste), or print the affirmations for your personal use.

If you want something better to put on the wall, and/or frame go to my picture gallery.

If you want to hear the affirmations and some other self-help audio.

——————

I am a good person. I am loved. I am love.

I am worthy of prosperity.

I am worthy of abundance.

I am worthy of joy. I am worthy of happiness.

I am perfect health. I am perfect order.

I am always successful. I am mentally clear.

I am responsible for my life.

I am responsible for my life only.

I am free to choose the direction of my life.

I am choosing the direction of my life.

I am in control of my life.

I am in control of my life only.

I am blessing everyone and everything in my life.

I am safe and secure.

I am completely safe and secure.

I am forgiven. I am forgiving all others.

I am at peace with myself.

I am at peace with the world.

I am open to all knowledge.

I am letting the knowledge reveal truth.

I am open to all truth. I am open only to truth.

I am living in truth. I am truth.

I am in my perfect career now. I am being myself.

I am open to my perfect loving partner now.

I am open to let my life’s purpose reveal itself to me now.

I am ready to receive my good.

I am courage. I am whole. I am eternal.

I am living in eternity now.

I am living in the present now.

I am loving myself. I am loving all others.

I am providing good in this world.

I am allowing good into all phases of my life.

Now you are ready to build the foundation of your spiritual growth. It is somewhat like a “Catch 22” instead of believing it when you see it. You will see it when you believe it. So that is what the affirmations are all about. Don’t judge them, or analyze them, just practice them regularly on a daily basis. As your thoughts become more positive their value will become more apparent to you. In time you will understand in a way that will show you the next step on the path to spiritual growth.

Don’t rush, you are eternal, all the time you need is available.

If you have questions or comments I would love to hear about them.

What is Truth?

How do we know truth?

Every day we must make decisions. Hundreds of people advising us to do this or do that. Asking us to believe in their truth and make it ours. Join their group, organization, company, religion, etc., and do as they do, so we will be safe, smart, rich, saved, etc. How do we sort through this mass of information and choose the best path? How do we know who is speaking truth and who isn’t?

The good news is, that we all come into the physical with a built-in truth detector. Some call it a conscious, or a wee voice whispering in our ear. The bad news is, that we don’t always follow what we know to be right. A truly honest person can not be deceived, therefor we must always do what we know to be right. Truth comes from the heart, the feelings we get about decisions we have made, or intend to make, those feelings tell us whether that being offered is good and true. As Yoda said: “you will know truth by its peace and calm.”

Here are a few things that guide me:

(1) Look through the “sales talk” into the reality behind it. “Observe what the person does, not what he says.”

(2) Know that truth is open and free to all who ask. No group or organization has any “secret” truth, and no money needs to be paid for it.

(3) Truth can be understood by all. It is never so complicated that only a few “chosen” ones can learn.

(4) Truth is always at hand. You don’t have to go somewhere “special” to find it.

(5) If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

and very important…..

(6) Truth will stand up to all questions and remain truth. There is nothing so “sacred” about truth that it can’t be questioned.

Test your truth in reality. You are responsible for your own growth and understanding. While others may advise, you are the one to say what path you will follow. It is you that will reap the reward or suffer the disappointment of your decisions.

I would not ask you to believe what you read on this blog, or anywhere else, until you test it in real life. Put the writings of love to the test. Try it out for truth.

Evidence of God

Depending on whose research you read: 80 to 94 percent of all people believe in God. It is true that many inherited those beliefs from their parents, but most think there is plenty of evidence that God exists. Miracles, visions, dreams, and experiences like out-of-body and near death experiences have convinced many of the existence of God. We look at our world and see the order and beauty of it. So there is plenty of evidence that God exists to believers.

I realize that this evidence is not good enough for science. But as for me I don’t care that science says there is no God, I experience God on a daily basis. I experience the Oneness of all things, the love and compassion of living in this physical life. To me that is plenty of evidence. I am sorry science can’t feel it or see it, it is a personal experience. Some religions call it enlightenment. Some conversion. But it is very real to those that experience it.

Helen Keller, blind and deaf as an infant. Her teacher could not communicate with her in any way. So the teacher would stick her hand into a bucket of water, then write the word WATER on the palm of her hand. Helen couldn’t make the connection between the water on her hand and the word written in her palm. For 18 months, every day, the teacher would allow her to experience water and then write the word WATER on the palm of her hand. Then one day it happened, she understood the connection between the experience of water and the word WATER written on her palm. From that point on her life changed dramatically because she could communicate with her teacher.

That is what enlightenment is all about, one day it happens and you know who you are and what you are doing here. You can communicate with God. Science will never change that no matter how much it says there is no evidence for God.
