This blog is more than an account of Near Death Experiences. It ponders in detail the tough questions of life. Who are you, and why are you here in this physical world? What happens when you die, and is there a judgment? However, most anything could appear here. This is not a news blog, archived posts are just as relevant as new posts. Every day we must make decisions. Hundreds of people advising us to do this or do that. Asking us to believe in their truth and make it ours. Join their group, organization, company, religion, etc., and do as they do, so we will be safe, smart, rich, saved, etc. How do we sort through this mass of information and choose the best path? How do we know who is speaking truth and who isn’t?
The good news is, that we all come into the physical with a built-in truth detector. Some call it a conscious, or a wee voice whispering in our ear. The bad news is, that we don’t always follow what we know to be right. A truly honest person can not be deceived, therefor we must always do what we know to be right. Truth comes from the heart, the feelings we get about decisions we have made, or intend to make, those feelings tell us whether that being offered is good and true. As Yoda said: “you will know truth by its peace and calm.”
Here are a few things that guide me:
(1) Look through the “sales talk” into the reality behind it. “Observe what the person does, not what he says.”
(2) Know that truth is open and free to all who ask. No group or organization has any “secret” truth, and no money needs to be paid for it.
(3) Truth can be understood by all. It is never so complicated that only a few “chosen” ones can learn.
(4) Truth is always at hand. You don’t have to go somewhere “special” to find it.
(5) If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
and very important…..
(6) Truth will stand up to all questions and remain truth. There is nothing so “sacred” about truth that it can’t be questioned.
Test your truth in reality. You are responsible for your own growth and understanding. While others may advise, you are the one to say what path you will follow. It is you that will reap the reward or suffer the disappointment of your decisions.
I would not ask you to believe what you read on this blog, or anywhere else, until you test it in real life. Put the writings of love to the test. Try it out for truth.
When I was in the Navy we had to check the integrity of the ship on a regular schedule. If the integrity of the ship was compromised all on board were in danger. The same is true with integrity anywhere. We are experiencing a recession right now because of a lack of integrity. Some of our business leaders decided to take unsafe chances for larger profits.
The lack of ethics, honesty, truthfulness, and integrity is everywhere in our society. It’s lacking in government, business, advertising, and most other institutions. Yet it is paramount to our survival as a country. Large powerful countries are first defeated from within before they lose on the battlefields. Defeated by the greed, avarice, and excessive desires of those in powerful positions to possess material wealth far beyond their needs, while ignoring the needs of others. In a democracy we must elect those leaders that will work for the betterment of all, rather than the betterment of themselves. The same applies to the leaders of all our businesses, and institutions. Without integrity the ship is lost.
Intregity begins with the individual. Each of us know right from wrong, we know what the rules are, we know how to be honest with others, and ourselves. Give full measure to others, pressed down. Practice living in truth. If you are misleading others, cheating them in any way stop it, because what you do to others you do to yourself also. We are spiritual beings, no one gets away with anything. The good we do others will be rewarded, and the harm we cause others will be repayed. What is at stake is your joy, and peace, don’t throw it away. Live in honesty, and make integity checks of your life on a regular schedule.
The most important thing in life is to live in truth. Everyone knows what truth is, but don’t always live up to walking the path. “Do the right thing,” is another way of saying live in truth. If you are honest with yourself, and your motives, life will be more understandable and pleasant. Don’t gossip, or repeat negative things you hear about others. If you are unsure what to believe, research it, ask, find out for yourself. Don’t make assumptions, or jump to conclusions. Take things at face value. Above all, seek truth with love, for without love nothing matters.
