All I needed was to be needed,
\nso I would awkwardly try to please,
\ndoing helpful tasks to be greeted,
\nbut, my efforts only got me teased.<\/p>\n
By all odds, I wished to get on line,
\nI wanted to laugh, and sing their song,
\nbut my attempts were treated as whines,
\nI was so not destined to belong.<\/p>\n
So I quit trying to please others,
\nstopped waiting for them to accept me,
\nbegan to realize their druthers,
\nwas enlightened it could never be.<\/p>\n
Alone, I searched a different way,
\na special life sculptured for myself,
\nit must be honest and laws obeyed,
\nno common stroke, borrowed off the shelf.<\/p>\n
Somehow decided to just be me,
\nto follow my heart and my feelings,
\nto live my life and let others be,
\nthere couldn’t be any fake dealings.<\/p>\n
Preferred to go where the wind chases,
\nand high water leaps in briny foam,
\nI saw weird people in strange places,
\nlearned odd ideas wherever I roamed.<\/p>\n
I gathered fast winds in my pocket,
\nOcean waves rippled \u2018neath my red boots,
\nI rambled with the ancient prophets,
\nbut, I\u2019ve no longing to plant my roots. <\/p>\n
Holding knowledge of eternity,
\nI sought to put wisdom in my life,
\nwe humans need a fraternity,
\nfounded on sweet harmony, not strife.<\/p>\n
I gained knowledge, but savvy, little,
\nmy journey brought questions, few answers,
\nlife is ultra complex, and brittle,
\ntruth be known by fortunate chances.<\/p>\n
I now will listen to others views,
\nconsider them as good as my own,
\nread and analyze the breaking news,
\nmy obsession be the great unknown.<\/p>\n
Apprising my needing to belong,
\nI\u2019m quickly accepted where I roam,
\npassers wish to acknowledge my song,
\nmany faraway lands I call home.<\/p>\n
Emerged satisfied as my own man,
\nbelonging to All-That-Is Oneness,
\nlove \u201call others\u201d has gained a new fan,
\nfilled with compassionate abundance.<\/p>\n
