In the tsunami animals were reported to have acted strange up to an hour before the tsunami hit.  Monkeys didn't want bananas, dogs wouldn't go for their daily run along the shore, elephants were running for the hills, bats, who are normally nocturnal were awake and frantic, ect...

There were very few animal carcasses found in the wake of the tsunami, where as hundreds of thousands of people died.
