My fiancée, who lives in Ghana, asked me this question today: "Why is it that Europe, Asia, and Australia are more developed, and everyone there gets three square meals a day, and also enjoys life, but in Africa, there are sickness, hunger, and suffering?"

I answered her in part by saying that humanity is still in its infancy, and people have not evolved enough to care for each other in the best way.

I have other thoughts about this as well involving karma and the agenda of our souls, but I would like to know what you think about the question.
