I found this to be a spectacular NDE, because of the length of time his brain had shut down due to the severity of his meningitis.  He was out for days.

Thanks Eric, for this reference. It has given me invaluable references for my forthcoming book, in particular, the book Irreducible Mind is something I find fascinating.
