You have to return

I've read a sizable amount of NDEs, and one thing i have noticed is that a good amount of them are told by some intelligent entity that they have to go back immediately before they return to their bodies. It just struck me that this trend is actually a powerful argument against the idea that mind=brain in situations were experiencers are quickly and suddenly revived.
Because the last thing so many experiencers hear before they're revived is that they need to return, if materialism were true, the brain would need to have advanced knowledge that it was about to be revived and it would have to creatively relay that information to the experiencer through the entities in the 'hallucination' (at a time when it showed no measurable activity and was starved of oxygen, but that's a separate argument).
If the brain did not have advanced knowledge of when it was going to be revived then the timing of 'you have to return' would not occur at the end of so many experiences. What we would instead see is that the experience would suddenly be interrupted, like waking up from a dream, and yet that's not at all what we see. People who talk to god don't suddenly get interrupted. So the brain would NEED to have advanced knowledge to fit the bill.
The big problem for materialism then is that the brain often has no way of knowing when it's about to be revived, because revival comes suddenly from outside forces, such as shock paddles or a defibrillator.

Yes, a good point. Thanks for pointing it out.
