I think I might know what you mean about the Beautiful Sadness - I think it might be like something I call the "sad happy". You can hear it in music. There are certain chords that I call the 'sad happiness' - and I have always felt God was immediately there. Love was there but also some sort of pain. I can't express it any other way. It seems like the two go together.
I sympathise with your first verse, the loss of your beloved mother; and the second verse, the loss of your love. I also have lost both. My mum died; and just a few years later, a man repudiated me who for for 25 years I had loved as his wife. Mental illness was part of it but even in relative sanity he repudiates me/distances himself from me.
All I can say is, thank goodness for God and his creation that continues to be beautiful and to bring solace.
