Resolutions Anyone?

Will you make a resolution
The first of this new year.
Could it be a real solution
Not just something insincere.

Might it cite a repetition
Of eating much too much,
Your personal admonition
For this stress-reducing crutch.

Might it list too much drinking
Of a numbing, mindless wine
That causes loss of thinking
And invitations to decline.

Might it mention smoking, betting,
Or fear of your chosen course
That makes your day upsetting
Causing you deep remorse.

Whatever your resolutions
Speak them with no askew
Because the real solutions
Lie there totally, within you.
